Cities are always bursting with beautiful hotels from budget friendly to lavish luxury, here are our favourites:

Oriente Atiram Hotel

The Oriente Atiram Hotel is found in the centre of Barcelona and is perfectly situated for travellers who want to explore the cultural and historical area of the city. All within close proximity to the hotel is a wide variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, so your Barcelona city break can be jam-packed with fun.

The Oriente Atiram Hotel is around 300m from the Gothic Quarter which is a must-see during your city break to Barcelona. There’s so much to do here whether it’s learning about Barcelona’s Jewish past, exploring Picasso’s old stomping ground or eating at Barcelona’s oldest restaurant. As night falls, the Gothic Quarter becomes a rowdy street party, so be prepared to head in and out of bars, nightclubs and cocktail lounges.

Barcelona Universal Hotel

Just a short walk from the main street that runs through the heart of the city, Barcelona Universal Hotel is a great place to rest your head during a fun-filled city break to Barcelona. The hotel boasts an enticing rooftop pool which has two terrace areas, both with amazing views of the city’s skyline.

The 60m tall Columbus Monument is a ten minute walk from the hotel and the seaside promenade is really close by too! Thanks to Barcelona’s coastal location, you can enjoy the best of both city and sea here, there’s even a beach if you’re dying to feel the sand between your toes. Barcelona’s port is also home to an aquarium which makes for a great day out for the whole family.

Two Hotel Barcelona By Axel

If you’re ready to do some serious city exploring, Two Hotel Barcelona By Axel is where you want to be! This popular hotel is just a stone’s throw away from the nearest metro station meaning you can hop on and hop off at every point in your itinerary with ease. You’re also just a 10-minute stroll away from the Placa d’Espanya, one of the biggest squares in Barcelona.

Back at the hotel, which is a popular spot for the gay community – though everyone is welcome, there’s plenty to enjoy if you fancy a relaxing morning or afternoon. The rooftop pool is a huge hit with visitors, unsurprisingly, and it’s accompanied by a bar and plenty of comfy loungers. There’s also a wellness area here too if you’re up for a massage!

U232 Hotel

U232 Hotel is a super stylish spot found in Barcelona’s Eixample neighbourhood. The hotel is in a peaceful location but you’re well connected to all of Barcelona’s must-see sights thanks to the fantastic metro system in the city. La Sagrada Familia is around 10 minutes away on the metro and the city centre about 15.

1.5km away from the hotel you’ll find Passeig de Gracia. This is one of the most important shopping and business avenues in Barcelona and it contains several of the city’s most celebrated pieces of architecture. Along with fantastic shops and architecture, you can also visit the Perfume Museum, which opened in 1963.

Gaudi Hotel

The Gaudi Hotel isn’t just named after Barcelona’s most famous architect – its interiors are inspired by his work, and one of his iconic masterpieces is just across the road. It’s opposite the Guell Palace, one of Gaudi’s first commissions in the heart of the city. And if you stroll around the corner, you’ll reach tree-lined Las Ramblas – the most vibrant shopping avenue around!

Inside the hotel, you’ll see decor that’s inspired by Gaudi, including a mosaic fountain in the lobby and artwork showing La Sagrada Familia. There’s also a rooftop terrace with a pool, perfect for relaxing after walking your legs off in the city. From up here, you’ll have amazing views of the sculptured chimneys and spires on top of Guell Palace.
