Nightlife in Barcelona

Barcelona is a city that doesn't sleep and offers a non stop fiesta. With lots of happening neighbourhoods to explore, escape the crowds of Las Ramblas and head to the Gothic quarter where you'll find plenty of British and Irish pubs or unwind in the Placa Reial – one of the city's social hubs, decorated with palm trees and lined with beautiful bars. The Spanish eat late and therefore go out late, so don't be surprised if bars are quiet before 11pm and if you're headed to a club on your Barcelona holiday, prepare to party until 6am.

Step back in time at Boadas Cocktails

Having opened its doors back in 1933, this quaint cocktail lounge oozes old world charm. Located along the bustling Las Ramblas, pass through the distinctive red doors and enjoy classic drinks from Old Fashionds to Tom Collins and Martinis. From the wood panelled interior and low lighting to the professional bar tenders dressed in tuxedos and bow ties, step back in time and enjoy perfectly mixed cocktails and impeccable service before returning to the vibrant strip outside.

The best gin and tonic at Rubi Bar

Located in the labyrinth of medieval streets in the fashionable and central district El Born, this small and cosy bar is famed for its selection of gin. Across the stylish menu you'll find a large collection of commercial and house infused gins and an array of classic cocktails including a mean mojito.

With bare stone walls, tall ceilings and distinctive red lighting, kick back with the locals and get a taste of the real Barcelonian night scene. Don't worry if gin isn't your thing – while it is the main draw for visitors to this venue, there are a range of other fantastic tipples on offer too.

Prepare to party at Sala Razzmatazz

For a taste of Barcelona's club scene, head to Sala Razzmatazz, one of the city's foremost venues and party until sunrise. Comprising of five different rooms serving up an eclectic mix of electronic, house, rock and pop and doubling up as a concert venue, the immense warehouse adorned with steel regularly hosts international DJs and bands.

The industrial-style club also attracts big crowds so arrive early to avoid large queues and for particularly big names, book tickets online.

Unleash your inner diva at Touch Music Karaoke

Open until 6am, you'll have plenty of time to take to the stage and embrace your inner rock star at this dynamic karaoke bar. With an extensive catalogue of music to choose from including both Spanish and English hits, would-be singers can even select what key they'd like to perform in before gracing the packed venue with their angelic tones.
