Uncrowded and Unspoilt
Istron Kalo Horio is a real working Greek village yet the name seems to cause confusion to even the locals. The upper village is usually known as Kalo Horio whilst the lower area nearer the beach is called Istron or Istro, however whichever name it goes by, there’s no disputing the fact that it is stunningly beautiful.
As the village leaves the beach behind and heads up into the lush green hillside, the views over the Gulf of Mirabello are simply second to none. Enjoy breathtaking scenery on walks amongst the olive groves and colourful Mediterranean shrubs or wander down to the coast where tree shaded coves are just waiting to be discovered.
The land closest to the sea has a conservation order leaving the beaches uncrowded and unspoilt and as you wander through the village you can still see the remains of the ancient town of Istrona on which the newer town stands.
You can choose to stay in one of the all inclusive resorts in this area; however the real beauty of Greece can only be experienced by mixing with the locals and getting out and about on your Istron holidays.
There are a number of villas to suit all budgets and tastes, plus a good selection of self catering apartments giving you the opportunity to visit the local tavernas, sample authentic cuisine and enjoy the wonderful, warm Greek hospitality to the fullest.
