The radiant RIU Karamboa has been one of our most popular hotels for many years, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s got a striking, majestic exterior, a magnificent main pool with a swish swim-up bar and breathtaking sea views beyond a spotless white-sand beach. Total paradise!
Over the summer of 2022, RIU has been working hard on this heavenly hotel, giving it a total revamp and making it even more luxurious in time for the winter season. It’s now an adult-only hotel with 24-hour All Inclusive service, meaning happy hour never ends!
The New Look
The refurbed RIU Karamboa retains the unique look it’s famous for, all the while pulling out all the stops to make the overall look and feel of the hotel much more modern, sleek and attractive. Guests will be blown away from the moment they step into the lobby, which is furnished with a shiny marble floor, comfy wooden furniture and splashes of emerald green.
This polished theme is followed throughout the hotel, from the impressive rooms to the various bars and restaurants dotted around the grounds. We were already so in love with this spectacular hotel, but now we adore it more than ever!
The Rooms
There are over 950 rooms in the RIU Karamboa, freshly decorated with cool, white tones and dark wood – a combination that’s both relaxing and stylish. Each room has a plush, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom, not to mention the regularly re-stocked minibar and in-room spirit dispensers. You’ll never go thirsty here!
You can choose one of four room options at the Karamboa:
- Double standard
- Double swim-up
- Triple with sofa bed
- Suite
The Food
No matter what time of day it is, you’ll be blown away by the mouth-watering food on offer at the RIU Karamboa. You can kick off your day in the best way by visiting a buffet with live cooking stations for breakfast, before enjoying tasty lunch from a grill by the beach or a poolside restaurant. Dinner is served in one of four buffet restaurants or in the Kulinarium, an a la carte restaurant we’d recommend visiting on your trip.* If you’re feeling peckish between meals, you’ll be able to get snacks around the clock too!
*Please note that you need to book reservations in advance for some of the evening restaurants.
The Pools
You’ll be spoilt for choice if you fancy a swim on your holiday to Cape Verde. There are five twinkling pools to cool down in, some complete with refreshing in-water loungers and one with a swim-up bar. There’s also now a Splash Water World park open six days a week if you fancy unleashing your inner child and taking on a range of colourful waterslides on your holiday. With sizzling sunshine and hot temperatures all year round, you’ll need plenty of pool time!
The Entertainment
Love to keep active on your holiday? You’ll never be bored here, as there’s plenty of entertainment on the agenda from dawn til dusk. Think everything from fun and friendly beach volleyball to water sports including body-boarding, snorkelling and kayaking. You can even take things down a notch and treat yourself to a massage or some time in the steam room at the Renova Spa for an additional charge.
The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down here. In true RIU style, your evenings will be filled with everything from live music and dance shows to theme parties for all the guests to get involved in. With an extensive cocktail list to work your way through, your nights will be just as much fun as your days at the RIU Karamboa!
