1. Build Sandcastles
Many of the beaches in Croatia are pebbly, but if you ask around you’ll find a few that have beautiful golden sands. A lot of these can be found on the Dalmatian Coast, and others on the countries tiny islands like Susak or Rab, which has a total of 22 sandy beaches. All you need is a bucket and spade and your little ones will be occupied for hours.

3. Diocletian’s Palace
For many children, the subject of history brings to mind visions of textbooks and long lectures. This isn’t the case with Diocletian’s Palace in Split. This palace brings the past to life with its magical stories about how the Roman building was built by the emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD. What’s more, on a night it turns into a restaurant.
Top tip – Diocletian’s Palace was used as the filming location for the fourth season of Game of Thrones.
4. Andrija Hotel, Sibenik
Looking for somewhere to stay? Then Andrija is the place to stay with children. Andrija delivers what is important – a child-friendly welcome. The restaurant has a kids’ corner and an excellent animation team provided by the hotel, this is great for little ones who get bored easily. 5. National Parks
Croatia has eight outstandingly beautiful national parks. At Krka National Park the kids will have an unforgettable adventure with walking trails, boat trips, and a lake to swim in. This will be one of the most enjoyable things you do during your time here, we promise!
Top tip – a pair of comfortable hiking boots or trainers are recommended as there will be lots of walking.
If you’re a family looking for entertainment in terms of theme parks or waterparks then Croatia will not be for you. However, if you’re more of an active family who love the outdoors then Croatia is ideal.
