A swim-up room comes with many benefits if you’re travelling with children. If the kids need an afternoon nap, they can do this in the comfort of your hotel room whilst you can still enjoy your time chilling on your private patio next to your swim-up pool. Or perhaps you hate the morning dash for sun loungers? With a swim-up room, there’s no need to set your alarm, you can enjoy a well-deserved lie in. The Caribbean has a great choice of swim-up rooms and and of course it offers that all important year-round sunshine. It can be more affordable than you think, especially when you book a last minute Caribbean holiday.

TUI Sensatori Resort Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Sensatori Punta Cana deserves its place on the best family swim-up rooms. The family suites here are luxurious and sleep up to four. Rooms are decked out with a 46 smart TV, iPod dock and Wi-Fi. These rooms are ideally located next to the Play House children’s club, so not far to go if the little ones want to join in any of the play sessions. With year-round sunshine a trip to the Dominican Republic is sure to be a winner.

Closer to home

If you prefer a holiday a little closer to home, you’ll find many hotels offering swim-up rooms, from the family friendly Balearic Islands to the warm shores of Cyprus, here are a few of our favourites.

Holiday Village Seaview Ibiza

If you’re after a shorter flight duration, the Holiday Village Seaview Ibiza will offer you just that with a flight time of around 2.5 hours. Here you can choose to stay in the main or deluxe area of the hotel. Swim-up rooms are available with sliding partition doors and all rooms come with two flatscreen TVs and most rooms have a kitchenette. As well as three outdoor pools, you also have access to the waterpark and of course direct access to your swim-up pool.

Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes, Kolymbia, Greece

Holiday Village Rhodes has been a family favourite since the first time it opened its doors, with many repeat guests returning year after year. This hotel is split into three separate zones, known as deluxe, activity and relax, all offering family swim-up rooms. If you want a little more privacy, you can select a room with a partition. All rooms come with Wi-Fi and the deluxe and family rooms come with a games console. For that added extra bit of luxury, suites are available with a private pool.

Holiday Village Aliathon, Paphos, Cyprus

If you’re thinking of getting married abroad or honeymooning with the family, the Holiday Village Aliathon in Cyprus is a popular choice. It has a top line-up of activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the day.  Swim-up rooms are available in the fishing village area and include some with a partition and larger two bedroom apartments that sleep up to six. All rooms include Wi-Fi, fridge and tea or coffee making facilities and that all important direct access into the pool.

TUI Sensatori Resort Barut Fethiye, Turkey

Tui Sensatori Resort Barut Fethiye is another hotel that welcomes guests back time after time. Swim-up rooms are available in the family, mixed and adults area. two bedroom apartments are available in the family section and all rooms come equipped with free WI-Fi, plasma TV, and mini bar. If you’re looking for a little more privacy or celebrating a special occasion, a suite with private pool and terrace are available in the Adults area.

Holiday Village Montenegro

The Holiday Village Montenegro opened in 2018 and is fast becoming a popular hotel. Two bedroom swim-up rooms are available and are a great choice for families looking for extra space. Each room comes with a double bedroom a queen-size bed and a second bedroom with twin beds and a single sofa bed. Your days here will be filled with activities from football to high aerial assault course’s.  Night time is no exception, with a full evening entertainment programme and if the kids fancy it, they can hop along to the kid’s club.
