Summer Fun For Less In Bulgaria

When many of us turn our thoughts to summer holidays, we inevitably think of the Mediterranean resorts we’ve visited previously or maybe even dream of faraway distant shores. However, how many of us can actually say that Bulgaria springs to mind? A few perhaps, but I’m guessing not many.

Bulgaria always seems to be lurking on the edge of the popularity stakes where cheap summer holidays are concerned but for some reason never seems to climb the ladder, so here at Holiday Hypermarket, we thought we’d champion it’s cause and point out a few of the reasons why booking a holiday to Bulgaria should be top of your ‘to do’ list this summer.

Beaches

The coastline of Bulgaria stretches for over 235 miles with around 80 miles of this being fantastic beaches, many of which have been awarded Blue Flag status for facilities and cleanliness. The pine covered Balkan Mountains laze around in the background setting off the clear blue waters of the Black Sea to perfection. And with summer temperatures rarely dropping below 28°C, there’s plenty of space to top up your tan.

Value For Money

You’re holiday money goes a very long way in Bulgaria; you can get a pint of local beer for 45p, and bottle of wine for £2.50. A main course will cost between £2 and £4.50 with a salad for around 90p. Please remember that we always recommend drinking in moderation (and no that’s not the name of a local bar).

History

Bulgaria lies at a point in the world where Europe meets Asia and has a vivid history to go with the territory. You can visit Greek settlements, summer palaces and Byzantine baths, plus the entire town of Nessebur is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with buildings dating back to 1000AD.

Nightlife

Sunny Beach in Bulgaria is fast becoming popular with the party crew. Why? Because it’s cheaper than Ibiza and just as much fun. The beach here stretches for 8km and much of it is lined with bars and clubs with international DJ’s playing on a regular basis. Or head into Flower Street, the heart of the party beat where there’s clubs to suit every taste in music (except perhaps my dad’s).

Hotels

Bulgaria accommodation ranges from basic, great value self-catering to full blown luxurious all inclusive. There are places to suit those who wish to chill and those who wish to party. Families will love holidays to Bulgaria with hotels such as the Aqua Nevis Clubhotel in Sunny Beach offering excellent family accommodation and its very own Splashpark. It has kids clubs, play pools and a water castle for the younger ones whilst the older, and braver can head to the Surf Simulator, Kamikaze and Twister.
