Palm Springs, California

We felt we just had to write about this gem of a hotel we discovered on Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs. The Desert Riviera Hotel was just perfect. What a welcome we received from the owners, Patty, Larry and Judy! With only 10 rooms in this hotel they ensure every guest is treated like royalty. They really seem to appreciate that your holiday is special, and go out of their way to make it a truly memorable time. If you chose to go into town at night, they even provide a free limo to take you!

The decor could be deemed as a little dated when you first see it, but you soon realise that it suits the hotel perfectly and portrays the American love for the 50’s era. They put a complimentary goody basket in your room, which was such a nice touch. The staff knew too well that the last thing we needed was to go out to get food especially after our long travels. The rooms were so spacious and airy, I didn’t feel as though I was staying in a hotel at all. I felt right at home. We were allowed free international calls, a computer with internet use, movies and books to borrow at our leisure, and even bikes to just take and explore the neighbourhood. The staff had all been carefully picked, and seemed just like an extended family, nothing was too much trouble for them.

The pool a great place to meet other guests, and the facilities themselves were really great and so well maintained. The water was as still as glass, and shimmered under the sun. They even have suntan lotion at the pool for everyone to use. They have thought of absolutely everything here and we would thoroughly recommend anyone visiting California to stay here.
