New York Newbie

New York, New York, New York, the Manhattan sky line says it all. Manic traffic, yellow cabs and skyscrapers, this city has no time for lights out. Many of us ponder will 3, 4 or 5 nights be enough? As busy as New York is, it would be better to make a list of things to do over 5 nights so you’re not running around the city like a headless chicken. Buy a map before you go and study the places where you’d like to go, the area is split into streets and avenues and you read the map like a grid reference. E.g between 56th Street and 57th Street on 5th Avenue you’ll find the Gucci designer shop.

New York is known for being the fashion district capital of the world with all top designer shops scattered along 5th Avenue such as Gucci, Prada and Giorgio Armani, the list is endless. You’ll sure find the ideal party frock here or a tuxedo suit for that important dinner event.  More of a show type person? Head over to Broadway and watch one of the cracking shows New York has available. One of the most popular shows on offer is the widely acclaimed Lion King. One of my tops tips is if you go to Times Square during the day of the show you’ll get heavily discounted tickets at brilliant prices. Times Square is one of the biggest attractions in New York, hosting 39 million visitors yearly and 330,000 people pass through daily. Keep your eye out for the famous Naked Cowboy* Conquer the Empire State building, the huge shaft stands 381 metres above New York City and is one of the best positions in the city to get the perfect picture.

You are spoilt with choice in New York with so much to see and do, I promise you’ll never get bored albeit your legs will be aching after the treks you’ll do around the city.
