Life’s a beach in Mainland Spain

When it comes to holidays we all look for something different. Some of us like to visit all things historic, some of us like to laze around the pool, while others love the feeling of sand between their toes. If you are the latter then take a look at the top not-to-be-missed beaches in mainland Spain.

Costa Dorada

Costa Dorada has been a favourite holiday destination with families for many years now. Not only does it offer 216 kilometres of coastline if you fancy letting off some steam, but it also has an action packed theme park. So, if you’re feeling extra brave why not head to PortAventura?

Costa del Sol

Costa del Sol is definitely one of Spain’s most versatile destinations with it’s coast of contrasting resorts. If you fancy glitz, glamour, and partying, the upmarket resort of Marbella will be right up your street, while resorts such as Torremolinos and Fuengirola are much more family based.

 Costa Blanca

The bright lights of Benidorm have been entertaining us since way back in the 1960’s, and Levante beach is the best sunbathing spot with its amazing stretch of golden sand packed with watersports and beautiful swimming spots. Denia, on the other hand, plays host to a smaller beach and is a great place to spot dolphins and hump back whales.

Costa Brava

Dotted with traditional fishing villages, rugged cliffs, and hidden coves, Costa Brava is pretty easy on the eye. Plus, Barcelona is only an hour way, making this a great base to explore the rest of the Catalonia Region.

Blanes Beach

Lloret de Mar Beach

Costa De Almeria

Although Costa De Almeria is the lesser-known of the Costas, it certainly doesn’t disappoint. The largest resort is Roquetas de Mar which boasts a wide sandy beach. One things for sure, you won’t be fighting the crowds for a sunbed spot here.
