Insider’s Tips

We suggest that you try the Zavaz restaurant for lunch. This eatery offers plenty of Caribbean treats, but if you’re simply after a snack the gourmet burger is a must! Open to everyone Zavaz is a great choice if you fancy a change from the buffet.

When it comes to beaches in the Caribbean you can’t go far wrong, but just to warn you the beach at this resort is often filled with seaweed. However, this is cleaned up regularly so don’t be put off. Alternatively, there is a bus service to the stunning Playa Maroma beach. Offering 500 acres of sand this shore is one of Mexico’s best kept secrets and is worth the short bus ride. Fancy a spot of shopping? Then Playa del Carmen (also, part of the hotel’s bus service) is the place to do some serious wallet damage.

Such trips will come at a small cost, but to make things easier for you there is a hut located at the end of every block with your private concierge inside. Here you are able to book trips and if you head down early you can choose from a scent and pillow menu to make sure your every requirement is met.

Finally, your stay won’t be complete without a visit to Le Chique. This Heston Blumenthal-style restaurant offers a modernist cuisine, captivating setting and whole new world of flavours. Besides, if you are booked with Thomson one visit to this restaurant is included in the cost of your holiday.

*Some restaurants and activities have an extra charge.
