Up until recently UK Citizens travelling to Turkey purchased their visas by paying £10.00 on arrival, however this is about to change.
From Thursday 10th April 2014 travellers to Turkey will have to apply at www.evisa.gov.tr . This will replace the sticker that was applied to your passport. The cost is 20.00 US Dollars or the equivalent in sterling. Further information can be found at https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/info/
With Turkey being just around a 4.5 hour flight from the UK; it is understandable why it has quickly become a hot spot to visit for us Brits.
Boasting beautiful beaches, natural wonders and steeped in history there really is something for all to enjoy.
** UPDATE –
ABTA have agreed with Turkey to extend the transition of e-visas until the 31st December.
This means that you can now apply for your visa online prior to travel or via the interactive kiosks on arrival at the airport up until the 31st December.
