Holidays 2022: The Hit-List!

2022 is just around the corner *gasp*, so what better time to share our favourite holiday destinations for the new year? With so many countries, resorts and hotels to choose from, sometimes it can get overwhelming, and a little recommendation goes a long way!

We’ve sourced our top six 2022 destinations and have even thrown in our favourite hotels for good measure, you’re welcome!

Ibiza

Ibiza

While being an infamous party island, Ibiza is also home to some beautiful sights and rich history. No matter what type of holiday you’re looking for, whether it’s a cheap and cheerful party holiday or a luxury All Inclusive break, we’re sure you will love everything the island has to offer.

From golden sand beaches to quaint old towns, there’s so much to explore if a jam-packed break is the sort of holiday you enjoy. Ibiza Old Town is known for its captivating buildings and narrow cobbled streets, and was even named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.

Ibiza

Obviously, the nightlife in Ibiza can’t go unmentioned! With world-famous nightclubs, bars and DJs, you’re sure to make life-long memories with your fellow holiday-ers. If dancing the night away in Pacha, watching the sunset at Cafe Mambo or living the high life at Ocean Beach sound like your vibe, then you will love everything the White Isle has to offer.

You will find a range of hotels in Ibiza to suit you, with plenty of self catering apartments, budget hotels or even luxury resorts. Despite the island’s wild and wonderful reputation, it’s also a great place for family holidays, meaning many of the hotels have great facilities for children, including kids clubs, splash pools and fun entertainment programmes.

Ibiza

A great family friendly hotel option in Ibiza is:

Holiday Village Seaview Ibiza

Holiday Village Sea View Ibiza

The Holiday Village Seaview Ibiza, Port des Torrent, has fantastic facilities for chilled holiday-ers and thrill seekers alike. The resort overlooks the sea and has a soft sandy beach just 100m away, perfect for kicking back and relaxing on a sun lounger while listening to the sound of the waves lapping at the shore.

If you’re hoping for thrills during your holiday then you’re in luck! The resort has a waterpark and Aerial Adventure course if you’re feeling brave enough. The waterpark boasts spiral chutes, multi-lane racers and a slide that shoots you out into a giant bowl. Small kids can enjoy a Caribbean Pirates play area, which has 10 mini-slides and a big tipping bucket.

Holiday Village Sea View Ibiza

A favourite Holiday Village feature has always been the Aerial Adventure courses we have at each resort, and each one is different! The course zig-zags around the hotel grounds above your head and can be enjoyed by guests aged six and above – even big kids, uh, we mean…adults, can give it a go too!

Rooms here come with a kitchenette, 2 flatscreen TVs and a balcony or terrace. You can have a pool or sea view room for a little extra, or even treat yourself to a swim-up room which has direct access to a shared pool. One bedroom apartments and family rooms are also available and have the option to upgrade to a sea view.

Cyprus

Cyprus

Just like Ibiza, Cyprus is an island of two halves – plenty of alcohol-soaked partying to be had as well as an abundance of breath-taking landscapes and historical ruins. Holidays to Cyprus start at one of the two main airports, Larnaca or Paphos. Larnaca is where you will find the nocturnal Ayia Napa and Paphos is home to more relaxed resorts like Coral Bay.

For those who want to dance until they can’t dance anymore in summer 2022, then Ayia Napa is a great choice. With plenty of reasonably priced package holidays to be snapped up, you can get excited about sipping colourful cocktails in the sun with the girls or beer-fueled bar crawls with the lads!

Cyprus

Coral Bay is a lovely seaside town that is filled with enticing history, beautiful beaches and tasty cuisine. There’s plenty to do here, with quaint streets winding through traditional Cypriot architecture and cocktail bars, restaurants and taverns around every corner.

Legend has it, that Greek goddess, Aphrodite, was born in Cyprus and you can see hints of romantic influence throughout the country.

There’s fun-filled kids’ clubs and day-to-night activities, plus splash zones and sea-view pools just waiting to be explored. There are three main pools here, one being a quieter zone if you’re looking to relax around the pool with a book or a cocktail.

Turkey

Turkey

Turkey has a fantastic reputation for All Inclusive holidays and the country’s coastline is bursting with stunning beaches. Turkey’s southwestern coast is fondly known as the Turkish Riviera, and you can enjoy bath-like temperatures when taking a dip in the Mediterranean or Aegean Sea.

A holiday to Turkey just isn’t complete without exploring the colourful bazaars filled with traditional items, perfect for souvenirs from your holiday or even gifts for your loved ones at home. Merchants at the stalls are usually up for some friendly haggling, so turn on your bartering ‘A’ game in a bid to bag a bargain.

Turkey

Turkish hotels offer the height of luxury, with fabulous spas and Turkish baths on site as well as an abundance of restaurant choices which introduce you to delightful cuisines from around the world. Here, hospitality is second to none, and you will find everything you need and more at your 5* accommodation.

One of our favourite Turkish luxury hotels is:

TUI SENSATORI Barut Fethiye

TUI SENSATORI Barut Fethiye

TUI SENSATORI Barut Fethiye is set in a serene location perfect for relaxing and unwinding in the sun. It is the ultimate retreat for couples wanting to enjoy the glorious weather, in a stunning resort that won’t break the bank.

The resort is home to five pools, and as with all SENSATORI hotels, there is a splash pool reserved for children and a dedicated adults only pool if you want to enjoy some serenity. The adults only pool has in-water sun loungers to help you work on your glorious tan and keep cool at the same time.

Foodies will be in their element here, with six restaurants to choose from – that’s almost one new spot a day for your week’s getaway! In the buffet restaurant, there’s a dedicated adults only section, perfect for travellers without children.

There are three restaurants where you can dine once per week as part of your All Inclusive package – they are Chinese, Turkish and classic Italian. For an extra fee, you can sit down for dinner at Neoman, which serves Asian cuisine and comes with its own sushi bar. There’s also the Sunset restaurant, grilling up succulent steaks and seafood. This one’s right by the beach – book an early-evening slot for the best backdrop.

Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic

When talking about the best places to go on holiday in 2022, we just have to give the Dominican Republic a mention. The country oozes luxury from pristine beaches to All Inclusive resorts, and is definitely a bucket list worthy long haul destination.

Usually, the best time of year to visit the Dominican Republic is in April and May – this is just as peak tourist season is ending so it won’t be too overcrowded and is just before hurricane season begins.

Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic boasts 50km of coastline which is decorated with palm trees and sun loungers and just set back from the seafront you can find lots of luxury resorts and plenty of restaurants with amazing views.

Bravo is one of the most popular spots in Punta Cana and as such there are hotels, restaurants and gift shops here, where you can buy local cigars and other craft products. There are also plenty of water-based activities from parasailing, to scuba diving and speed boating.

Dominican Republic

A great hotel we recommend in the Punta Cana region is:

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort and Aquagames

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort and Aquagames

The Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort and Aquagames has been recently refurbished (in 2018) and the hotel boasts a fantastic beachfront location where kids and families can enjoy a sense of luxury on its Blue Flag Beach.

You can enjoy two pools here and a water park – with a ten metre high main tower, a couple of chutes, some toboggan slides and a free fall twister. Younger kids have their own splash park to enjoy with a handful of slides.

In addition to the two buffet restaurants, there are seven themed à la carte restaurants, including an American diner, an Italian place and a Mediterranean restaurant. There are nine bars to choose from – including one with a signature cocktail inspired by the nautical colours of the Dominican Republic flag.

You won’t be short of things to do here either, with an on-site nightclub and a theatre, as well as tennis, football, basketball and archery in the resort. Head to the beach to find  everything from kayaking and scuba diving classes to beach volleyball.

Kos

Kos

This exciting Greek island is well known for its abundant sandy beaches and exciting nightlife, but you can see your fair share of historic ruins in Kos too. The 40km long island is always a go-to for beach holiday, thanks to the many striking white beaches and enticing turquoise waters.

Along the many beaches, there’s plenty of options for watersports including windsurfing, scuba diving and snorkelling. You can also enjoy rental boats and sailing tours so you can explore the island and discover the wonders of the Aegean Sea with your experienced Greek guides.

Kos

There’s no doubt that Greek food is delicious! A ‘must do’ when you visit Kos is trying the tasty delights the island has to offer including traditional meals like souvlaki and moussaka. Restaurants serve up everything from Italian to British cuisine, as well as endless seafood joints and several Mediterranean restaurants.

Majorca

Majorca

Majorca is the largest and most popular of the Balearic Islands, and it’s not hard to see why it attracts so many visitors year after year. The weather here is always great no matter when you visit, and there’s something to suit all holiday-ers with exciting nightlife on one hand and peaceful beaches on the other.

In only a couple of hours from the UK, you can reach these golden sands which offer a fantastic range of amenities, right on your doorstep. Majorca is a much loved holiday destination by Brits, giving the place that home away from home feel.

Majorca

If you’re looking to take in a bit of culture during your trip, you can explore the ruins of castles and monasteries that remain across the island. In the capital, Palma, there are fantastic architectural examples on display in the shape of grand palaces, abandoned forts and awe-inspiring cathedrals.

Of course, the jovial nightlife can’t go without a mention. Majorca has plenty of bars and nightclubs waiting to be enjoyed by merry tourists and resorts like Magaluf even have a ‘strip’ where you can hop from bar to bar for an alcohol fueled evening.
