Free Holiday To Ibiza

My mum is always entering competitions and has never won anything more than a pen, so when she announced last May that she had won a week’s holiday to Ibiza, and that I would be going wither her, I couldn’t believe it. In fact, I didn’t believe it at first! It was true though, and I remember thinking how fabulous it was that she had finally won something, but what bad luck it was too, that the holiday was to Ibiza. She wouldn’t survive the rowdy nightlife!! Thankfully, when the details came through, we were staying in the lovely resort of Es Cana in a lovely half board hotel.

In fact, it turned out to be the largest resort in Europe, not just a hotel!!! Our room was lovely and the staff were really helpful, though I’m not sure if this was because we’d won the holiday. Either way, we weren’t complaining at their fine hospitality!

The complex had a huge swimming pool which was for focus for day time activities. The animation team kept everyone entertained throughout the day and on an evening too. The complex had its own disco too, holding up to 800 people, hosting parties every night. There is also a beach, with sailing and diving schools, along with sports such as beach volleyball. We saw that there was also mountain biking Kayaking and climbing on offer! The beach is beautiful and clean and the sea is so warm. We had to pay for a sun lounger but they weren’t much at all.

The complex hosts a hippy market in the woodland at the Club Punta Arabi every Wednesday. It can get very busy and hot. Many of the stalls sell a variety of local handicrafts, incense, candles, jewellery, bags and clothes. There are also some buskers and hippy entertainers making for a fun day out.

As we were half board we ate at the hotel 4 nights and ate out in the resort the other 3. During the day there are plenty of places to grab a snack.

Es Cana has plenty of bars and I never knew my mum was such a party animal; I was wanting to go to bed before her!! The majority of the bars offer BOGOF promotions and other deals. The Zodiac bar and restaurant is a great place for entertainment with nice food that wasn’t expensive. Charley’s can get quite busy too, with good entertainment including a comedian singer.

We didn’t do any excursions but people we chatted to had been on the glass bottom boat trip and said they’d enjoyed it. Dotted around resort are numerous supermarkets and souvenir shops. We had a really good holiday and it was so cheap. We only had to fork out for spending money!
