Florida – The World’s Best Family Holiday Destination?

Get closer to whales and dolphins, hear the roar of the Incredible Hulk, taste the sweet fizz of ‘Butterbeer’ on your tongue and scream as you slide through a retro disco on a rubber ring – Florida has to be one of the world’s best destinations for families. Here are some of the reasons why it tops our list for fun-filled, affordable attractions.

Islands of Adventure

Adjoining Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure opened in 1999 with six themed areas taking visitors on an exciting journey of discovery.

Children love to walk through Hogwarts Castle in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – where the people inside the portraits really do move and you can soar through the skies on a broomstick – while the thrill of several large rollercoasters is breath-taking. You can of course venture into a time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth in the Jurassic Park zone too.

SeaWorld Orlando

Carve some time out of your no doubt busy schedule to head to Orlando’s SeaWorld, it’ll be worth it.

Get ready for the aquatic experience of a lifetime with shows featuring a hilarious sea lion and otter to the ‘Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin®’. And if you thought playing with the dolphins and experiencing a day in the life of a turtle was all you’d be doing, think again. SeaWorld is an impressive water-obsessed theme park with thrilling and gentle rides available throughout.

Wet ‘n’ Wild

Although there are several other waterparks in Orlando, Wet ‘n’ Wild is the ideal family park jam-packed with exciting rides. It’s particularly great if you are worried about sending the kids off on their own since there are many multi-person rides where all of you can ride together, including Bubba Tub and The Surge.

For a real burst of adrenaline try The Bomb Bay, but be warned, the near vertical drop is not for the faint hearted!

Clearwater Beach

Orlando can leave you feeling like you need another week in the sun for some R&R! After packing in full days at the theme parks, take yourself off to Clearwater Beach on the west coast of Florida. One of America’s finest, the beautiful white sands are perfect for those who want to soak up some rays, while watersports are available for adventure seekers.

You might be thinking that all of this sounds expensive, but trips to Florida can be very affordable. Many passes include entry to a range parks, for more information give one of our travel advisors a call on 0204 578 0977.
