First Class Holiday Village

When we booked our holiday to Cyprus last summer, we were really hoping for something special, as we don’t often get chance for a break away, and just wanted an experience to remember. We were a party of four; my partner and I, and two children aged 10 and 4 so needed something family friendly with lots of activities to keep the kids entertained.

Cyprus doesn’t have many all inclusive properties, which limited us to properties we could choose from. After lots of um-ing and ahh-ing, we decided on booking the Aliathon Holiday Village in Paphos through First Choice. I would definitely recommend booking a holiday with First Choice as they have very polite and friendly staff and were extremely professional.

A little added perk to the holiday we booked was that we were allowed to take a buggy on the First Choice flight free of charge. This really was a great help as we had quite a lot of luggage anyway, and it wouldn’t have fit within our allowance.

When we arrived at the Holiday Village, we really were over the moon. It was so much better than we could have hoped, it was a super complex with so many things going on. Themed around a fishing village, making it look really unique to anything else we had seen, the hotel fit in well with traditional Paphos. It also holds the largest pool in all of Cyprus, in addition to 3 others, including a themed children’s playground-like pool with slides.

The benefits of this holiday were great, especially the amazing kids’ clubs on offer. I know in the past my children have refused to return to holiday clubs, but they looked forward to going to these ones. They are all run by British reps that have all got the relevant qualifications and correct police checks to take care of children, so we felt safe and comfortable in the knowledge that they are being properly looked after. The soccer school for kids and toddler swim classes were great activities to keep the kids amused during the day, and they were learning something at the same time (without realising it, which was even better!)

If you are travelling with babies we saw that First Choice offer baby packs that include food, milk and milk warmers, sterilisers etc which is a great idea for parents and saves luggage weight so you don’t have to carry everything with you. I wish we had known this when my two were young, because I might’ve travelled with First Choice in the past!

For adults, the complex’s facilities included: archery, a bowling green, a tennis court, table tennis, pool, a gym, a spa and a beauty salon. Other activities included kayaking, raft-building, climbing, and mountain biking amongst others!

On an evening the complex held its own entertainment, with themed nights with activities ranging from cabaret shows to bingo, and a kids disco for the little ones.

I think the Aliathon Holiday Village is brilliant with many activities and extras on offer and world class staff. I would certainly go to another of First Choice’s Holiday Villages.
