Anyone who’s been on a Mexico holiday will tell you it’s a holiday destination with some fantastic variety, and the same can definitely be said for its hotels and accommodation options.
That’s why we’ve put together our five favourite hotels in Mexico to help you choose how best to enjoy your holiday, wherever in the country you’re set to fly to.
Sensimar El Dorado Seaside Suites and Spa
The beautiful beaches of Riviera Maya are yours to relish at this luxurious adults-only resort. Little extras like personal beach waiters and rooms with optional hot tubs make this very much a realm of endless you-time.
This hotel’s verdant gardens and four pools make it a romantic hideaway you might feel too cosy within to leave.
Mealtimes see gourmet dining done right, serving up classy interpretations not only of local Mexican favourites, but also more rugged grilled fare and sleek Japanese dishes.
That’s all found alongside bars that serve 16 types of tequila, together with optional painting classes and dance classes.
Sensatori Resort Mexico
We’re staying in Riviera Maya for this all-out sensation, within a few minutes’ stroll of some of the softest beaches around.
The All Inclusive booking you get at Sensatori Resort Mexico has all manner of meals as standard, from traditional dishes to more experimental cuisine.
With hot tubs in the suites and a free-form approach to activities like football and kayaking, you’re given the liberty to roam at your pleasure in stunning grounds.
Gran Bahia Principe Coba
Third time round in Riviera Maya, we find a superb resort complex that’s been designed from the ground up to treat the whole family to a memorable trip.
With its own private beach on your doorstep, together with a waterpark for the kids, a golf course for Dad and a salon and spa for Mum, everyone’s getting inspired here.
While Gran Bahia Principe Coba might be a place to relax, thanks to its superb dining and range of pools to laze by, it’s also keen to see you active. Bike hire is easily done here, while tennis courts and diving classes open your eyes to the treasures awaiting the brave.
Riu Cancun Hotel
There are few places on Earth more desirable to be than the beaches of Cancun, but that’s exactly where you’ll be at the Riu Cancun Hotel. This is a beautiful and immense resort complex catering to your every whim.
If a beach on your doorstep isn’t enough, you’ve got the Mayfair Shopping Centre just over the road. That said, the hotel packs in plenty to keep you occupied, including a 24-hour sports bar and full gym access.
Water polo matches are a mainstay here too, but so is lounging by one of the four pools with a tequila in hand, so how you spend your downtime here is up to you.
Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya
Our roundup finishes with the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, a luxurious beachfront retreat specialising in honeymoons. That said, it’s just as pleasant a place to be for any kind of getaway, with junior suite rooms as standard that factor in a whirlpool bath and minibar.
With 10 restaurants available, each offering flavours from places as diverse as the Far East, Central America and the Mediterranean, nobody’s staying here hungry.
What’s more, game shows and musicals keep nighttime active, while those of you looking to explore can take a boat trip out over the shoreline.
While each of our five favourite hotels has plenty to offer, Mexico has dozens of others well worth your time and attention. If you’ve had an unforgettable stay in a Mexican hotel on holiday, let us know in the comments.
