Why This Family Love The Holiday Village Rhodes

Different images from the Holiday Village.

Since it opened its doors in 2010, the Holiday Village Rhodes has been a firm favourite with many guests returning year after year. So, when our regular holiday-goers the Kemp’s booked a holiday to the Holiday Village Rhodes, we asked them to capture their holiday for us… And they said yes!
The Kemp family have been booking their holidays with the Holiday Hypermarket for many years now, and after a recent trip to the Holiday Village in Rhodes they couldn’t wait to share their memories with us.

What made you book the Holiday Village?

We’ve been to the Holiday Villages in Sharm el Sheikh and Ibiza, so after checking out the Holiday Village Rhodes reviews and taking on board your recommendation, we thought we would give it a go.

What do you look for in a holiday?

We always look for a hotel where the girls will have plenty to do, if they’re happy then we’re happy. Our girls are aged 9 and 11 and love to take part in activities. My husband and I, on the other hand, are the opposite and are happy with good weather, delicious food, and a vast cocktail list.

How was your accommodation?

We had a ground floor room overlooking the pool in the activity area, and the location was perfect. Just a few small steps from the pool you could cool off in minutes. The bathroom had a bath with a shower over as well as a separate shower cubicle – this was great as the girls could shower at the same time. The bed was huge so we had plenty of room and the fridge was great for keeping food and drink chilled.

Holiday village Rhodes, Italian meal

What was the food like?

The food was some of the best we’ve ever tasted in a hotel. The girls really enjoyed the sausages on a morning and the snack bar at lunchtime was a big hit, especially its tasty kebabs. We visited all the a la carte restaurants, Greek and Grill, Tex Mex, and the Italian, which were all worth a visit. We can honestly say that we were happy with all of our meals and I’m sure our waistlines will agree.

The beach

Did you do any excursions?

Yes, we enjoyed a great day out in Marmaris, Turkey. We were picked up at the hotel and were transferred to Rhodes port. Within 45 minutes we arrived in sunny Marmaris where we spent the day shopping and picking up lots of bargains. We are glad that we went on this trip as it was great to visit another country.
As it was our wedding anniversary, we decided to spend an evening in Rhodes Town. We enjoyed an amazing meal and finished off with a walk around the town’s cobbled streets. We would definitely recommend this excursion.

High Ropes

How did you find the activities and entertainment?

There was so much on offer, and we never once heard those dreaded words “I’m bored”. The girls loved the slides in the waterpark and we even felt comfortable giving them a little bit of freedom. The ariel adventure and the water orbs were also a big hit. One day we even caught the kids joining in the water aerobics with the adults and they were having a ball. They didn’t attend the kids’ clubs as it wasn’t their thing. But we spoke to other families and their children had a great time.
Live and Loud kept them entertained on an evening with games, shows, and plenty of dancing. And we still have the songs going around in our heads, we did secretly love them!

Lots of inflatables

Any hints and tips you would like to share?

  • The free Wi-Fi was an added bonus, especially in the rooms.
  • Don’t bother taking inflatables as guests tend to leave them behind. When we arrived the pool was full of them!
  • Pack a travel flask for your drinks as the cups are a bit on the small side. Or, you could always take a vending cup tray holder as it makes carrying a large round from the bar so much easier.
  • Have a night out at Star Bar – It’s just around the corner from the Holiday Village and they have mini golf and bouncy castles to keep the children entertained, oh and the cocktails are delicious.
  • Hop on the bus or take a taxi to Tsambika Beach. It’s a beautiful beach, and if you want have fun take part in the inflatables in the sea, it’s a bit like Total Wipeout. The cost is around €10, but it is well worth the money.
