The Day of the Doctor!

Whovians around the world have been saving the date ready for 23rd November 2013, also known as ‘The Day of the Doctor’. After 10 rejuvenations, 11 actors, 240 episodes and 50 years the Time Lord has certainly been around.

As a child in the 1970s many of us remember anxiously waiting for Doctor Who to start on a Saturday night, then spending the entire episode hiding behind a cushion. The special episode promises to be the Doctor’s greatest adventure and it got us thinking about where we would send the Doctor.

Egypt

The first stop would have to be the Valley of the Kings, Egypt. Sending the doctor and his sidekick way back in 1539BC would certainly clear up how they managed to build the pyramids. It would also mean he could claim the original ‘Finger on top of a pyramid in the distance’ selfie!

Barcelona

Next stop for the doctor would be Barcelona, Spain, having the tardis land at just the right moment in 2026. This episode would see the completion of Sagrada Familia Barcelona, which will have taken 144 years to complete.

Mexico

Transporting the doctor back to 600AD he could see the city of Chichen Itza, Mexico, being constructed. A lot of the Mayan people were skilled craftsmen, we can imagine the doctor having a sculpture made of himself!

Maldives

Hurtling the Tardis into the future and stopping at 2100 would mean the doctor gets to see the beautiful islands of the Maldives, this might just be the unfortunate moment where the Maldives take their last breath before joining Atlantis as a lost nation underwater.

If you ever had your own Tardis where in time or space would you travel?

Now the doctor is required back to the present day for the very special episode ‘The Day of the Doctor!’ which aires on the 23rd November 2013 at 19:50pm on BBC1.

Now sit back and relax and watch the expert himself in action! Exterminate Exterminate Exterminate!!
