Budget Winter Sun Hotspots For 2015

 

The usual British weather is already starting to make an appearance this year, in fact the heating’s already back on, the nights are getting darker and the BBQ is packed away for another year. Don’t worry though, with plenty cheap deals available, now is the perfect time to escape on a winter sun holiday.

Costa del Sol

 

If you are looking for short flight duration paired with a good deal, look no further than Costa del Sol. With a flight time of just under 3 hours, you will be sipping sangria in no time. Temperatures average 18°C in the winter months, which is certainly a lot toastier than the UK. Although the main resorts such as Fuengirola, Benalmadena and the millionaire’s playground Marbella are quieter in the winter months, it’s a perfect opportunity to take in some sightseeing whilst avoiding the crowds.

Portugal

 

Another destination that’s less than 3 hours away, and just a short plane ride from the UK is Portugal. Although not as hot as some alternative destinations, it’s a great spot for some winter sun.  If you like a round of golf, Portugal is the perfect place to tee off in the winter, with around 70 courses to choose from. Winters can be mild, with average temperatures reaching 17°C.

Fuerteventura

 

We’re starting to hot up a little now. Fuerteventura is the second largest Canary Island and average temperatures reach 22°C in the winter months. It’s been a firm favourite for many years with holidaymakers seeking some winter sun. Fuerteventura is well known for its endless sandy beaches, so with a flight time of around 4.5 hours, you’ll be feeling the sand between your toes in no time.

Gran Canaria

 

 

 

Another destination in the Canary Island’s to offer you some warm winter sun is Gran Canaria. With temperatures averaging 24°C and a flying time of around of 4.5 hours, you could be enjoying this sunshine island in no time. Gran Canaria has lots to offer, from the rolling sand dunes in Maspalomas to the pretty fishing village of Puerto Mogan, known locally as little Italy, and let’s not forget miles and miles of sandy beaches.

Goa

 

If you fancy travelling further afield, a 9.5 hour flight will take you to Goa. This part of India has been a top selling destination for many years now – you definitely won’t need your winter woollies here as you can expect temperature’s around 32°C. If you like to dine out in the local restaurants and shop the local markets for bargains, you won’t be disappointed, and certainly won’t break the bank as you really do get a lot for your hard earned pound in Goa.
