Tenerife Last Minute Holidays

You don't need to book ahead in Tenerife

Flights to Tenerife take four and a half hours and usually land at Tenerife South Airport. Transfers from here to the popular southwestern resorts take just 25 minutes and a little further elsewhere on the island. Even though you’re booking last minute you’ll still often get airport transfers included.

One of Tenerife’s biggest resorts, Los Cristianos has two big bays, the second of which – Playa de las Vistas – virtually joins on to the town of Playa de las Americas to make six beaches in total. Between the two towns a plethora of activities are available that don’t need to be booked in advance, such as watersports and boat trips from the harbour, shopping and plenty of partying. Conveniently, free coaches run from a number of Los Cristianos’ hotels to nearby waterparks, animal parks and go-karting tracks.

For a more laid-back and luxurious last minute holiday to Tenerife, Costa Adeje is a classy, modern resort with the most Blue Flag beaches of any resort in Tenerife – five in all, boasting both golden and volcanic black sands. The nightlife here varies from magic shows to Motown nights and the choice of restaurants is wide.

For a slightly slower pace, Las Caletillas is a self-contained resort on Tenerife’s northeast coast. You can spend time on the pebble beach in the peace and quiet, or head to Playa de Teresitas’ nearby sands to surf in the waves. The capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is only a 15-minute taxi ride away and you can walk to the next town, Candelaria, for even more to do.
