The best time of year to book your last minute holiday

With a hot and tropical climate throughout the year, late escapes to St Lucia are possible at any time. Book up to eight weeks in advance to secure a great deal, or even a few days before. Peak season is also dry season so book from December to April to ensure the best weather. For the cheapest deals aim to book for May, it’s less crowded and you’ll sneak in for a relaxing break before the summer influx.

Average flight times to St Lucia from the UK are around eight hours, allowing you just enough time to watch an in-flight movie, take a nap and browse through your guide book before arriving on the island.

November is the hottest month with average temperatures of around 29°C with January the coldest at a still-impressive 26°C. Aside from the excellent beaches, active holidaymakers will find a selection of hiking options available to them exploring the lush interior. Pigeon Island National Park, a serene spot with a beach and museum, is another fascinating day out for those wanting more than just beach life.
