Key Features

  • Short stroll to Kriopigi
  • Near the beach
  • Good-sized pool

TripAdvisor reviewers love this friendly, family-run hotel, which is just a short walk from the beach and bars.

This place is owned and run by 2 brothers. And they’ve made it a high scoring hotel on TripAdvisor. The deep pool is one reason, as is the restaurant, which hosts a barbecue night every week. There’s a Blue Flag beach 15 minutes’ walk away. It’s a sand-and-pebble number with several tavernas and cafés. And if you don’t fancy the walk, there’s always the little shuttle train.

• 700m downhill to nearest beach
• 200m uphill to resort centre

1 hour to 2 hours 30 minutes

Swimming pool

• Swimming pool

• Snack bar
• Barbecue once a week

• Lounge
• Bar with satellite TV
• Weekly quiz

This is a hotel perfect for over 18s. We had an absolutely wonderful break relaxing by the pool (though rather deep) and exploring the local beach (a stroll down a slight hill) as well as local towns ...such as Kalithea for the pedlo/jetski and shopping facilities. The surrounding area is brilliant with a wide range of tavernas to choose from. We met some lovely people and were treated extremly well by the hotel. Many thanks to Thomson and I am sure we will be going back! :)

well we booked early august and got a great last minute week deal!! the hotel was typical dont go expecting 5*....but if you know anything about greece then you will know what i mean! Situ...ated half way up a very steep hill..dont think it's ideal for young kids or older people as it was a 20 min walk down the steep hill to the beach..and then back up...and then a five minute walk up the hill to the town.

overall we loved our holiday..could fault it. Staff were fabulous and charming, the pina coladas were to die for and the pool was never too busy!!!! thank you aegean!!!

Arrived on 20th June and we were extremely suprised at the quality of these apartments. All recently refurbished to a high standard, Lovely comfy beds with fancy headboards and matching furniture with... co-ordinating curtains ( not quite to our taste but nevertheless good quality and there had been a lot of thought gone into it). Extremely clean with maids in every day... and it's a long time since we have had that in Greece! Fabulous pool with very comfortable sunbeds and mattresses, with matching furniture at the bar. And the guys at the bar and reception very friendly without being over the top. Well tended flower beds and lawn too. We'll definitely be back at some time in the future. ? ????, ?????? ??? ????????!

We booked last min slightly worried as we payed a very low price, however we had no worries there as we had a very spacious room, cleaned everyday with 5 changes of sheets and towels in 2 weeks. Man...agers not in your face, but there when you needed them. Pool is deep no shallow end but very nice with comfy new beds. Bar man George is a hard working nice person who helps whenever needed. Bar meals were fine, just pizzas, salads, toasties etc. It is a quiet resort but that's what we wanted ,plenty of restaurants. Petros and the bistro were my favorites .The village is up a hill, puffed a bit but we are the older generation. The beach was a pleasant walk down but we caught train or bus back. The hotel is basic but we didn't pay for the Ritz. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend as a holiday location.

We got a last minute deal from Thompson for a family of 5 kids aged 6,9 and 11. We paid £400 each for a fortnight (two rooms) flying from Newcastle. The hotel is basic, but absolutely fine The rooms ...have air conditioning (5 Euros per day) a safe (15 Euros per week). The beds are comfortable the cooking facilities are basic. The pool is nice (and there is a small pool for the little ones. The pool area is very pleasant - new sun loungers etc. delivered last week. There is a pool bar that does snacks at reasonable prices (for Greece). There is also free internet. The village is about 200m up a hill and the beach is about 10-15 mins walk down the hill, but there is a road train (1 euro per person each way). There are two supermarkets, gift shops and a dozen on so restaurants in Kriopigi. There is a bus service to other resorts, but the service is infrequent.

Rooms were adequate for our needs (unless you want to cook, shower in warm water, brush teeth in cold water and have decent air con) the constant house/garage and RAP music from the bar began to get o...n the nerves after day one, even more so when it reverberated through the complex up to the apartment. The owners thought it was great and wouldn't change it even though most of the clients were middle aged. (George the bar man was worked hard and did a great job) Air con (35 euros for the week) constantly spewed water out over the TV often soaking the floor and just provided a slight cooling draught. Food served there were only bar snaks i.e. chips, toasties or a tuna salad and expensive. No hot water after 5pm for shower, bathroom sink tap only conected to hot water supply, made brusing teeth in the morning interesting. Location: Distance from beach 900 metres!!!! maybe as the crow flies more like 2kilometres so take the tractor train. Overall won't be going back.

We are an older couple & stayed for a week at end of Sept 09. Have travelled Greece over 20 years & are used to basic amenities in apartments. These were very good compared to most. Owners were & Stelios let me borrow his hairdryer when I realised I'd left mine at home. The communal areas are spotless & are cleaned daily. We didn't eat there but food always smelled good in the dining area. There's a walk uphill to the resort but it is fairly short & I didn't see anyone struggling, including my husband who had a heart attack 10 months ago. Likewise, the beach is downhill & it is a trek back up when the small road train isn't running at the end of the season. Just take it easy, like we did, with a bottle of water to hand.

Kriopigi itself is a pleasant fairly small place but with excellent restaurants. The apartment was very basic and badly finished and someone forgot to tell us about the building site at the back whic...h started work each day at 7 a.m., complete with concrete mixers etc etc. The shower was so filthy we had to clean it before use and towels are only changed once in a week. On requesting more towels I was met with astonishment and told that I would have to discuss it with the owners.

Having said all of that, the pool was kept very clean and was excellent, food at the bar of the pizza/chips variety, no Greek food in sight, but we ate at a different restaurant each night in the village and they were all excellent and good value. The beach was very stony/rocky and not particularly enjoyable and is a really steep climb back up the hill - so catch the train!
I'm sure that the proprietors of the Aegean are somehow related to one B Fawlty...but I guess you get only what you pay for.

The holiday was generally enjoyable and Excel Airways were really good, efficient and on time.

my husband and i have just arrived back from staying at the aegean was one of the best holidays we have ever had thanks to the staff and the people we met. the hotel is on a steep hill which ...the holiday company forgets to mention. the resort centre is only 5 mins away but you have to climb a steep hill to get there.the beach is about a 20 min walk downhill and feels like a hour and 20 min up again.

the hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful there is a restaurant in the hotel but its only used by other guests who have booked half board, the pool bar makes snacks like toasties, chips and pizza but its not very tasty.
if you make the 5 min climb up the hill to the resort centre you will find bars and restaurants our favourite restaurant was athenas. if you like to sample the bars you will find no better than the classic bar the owners nikko and pannos were fab to us all, nothing was to much trouble for them they even drove us down the hill to the hotel.

stelios and stakkis who own the hotel were quite when we arrived but by the 2nd week they were really friendly.we booked the holiday on a last minute deal so we fell lucky and we would go back tomorrow.
