The Aristomenis Apartments is anchored into the hillside overlooking Lourdas. Thanks to its sea-view pool, spacious rooms and classic Greek hospitality, it’s a big favourite.
A colonnaded balustrade gives the pool a classical feel. It’s accessorised by a lounger-sprinkled sun terrace where on a clear day, you can see as far as Zante. Nearby, a bar dishes out drinks and snacks.
The hotel is as pretty as a picture, too. It has a terracotta roof and apricot walls, so it blends in well with its surroundings. It’s set among olive groves, citrus trees and pine-shrouded hills, too, giving it a private and secluded feel.
Overview of Lourdas
Lourdas is on Kefalonia’s south coast, which means it’s largely untouched by tourism. Instead, when you head to the Aristomenis Apartments on your holiday to Kefalonia, you can expect a traditional resort that’s authentically Greek.
The beaches are interlinked across a sprawling landscape, so it’s hugely enticing for explorers. It’s not all quiet and quaint in Lourdas though, and there’s still plenty of shopping and nightlife. When you want a bit more action, you have access to the highest mountain in the Ionian Islands, and the capital, Argostoli, is only half-an-hour’s drive away.
Things to do in Lourdas
Although there’s a secluded feel to the Aristomenis Apartments, you’re only a 10-minute walk away from the nearest tavernas – and they all specialise in homemade food and hearty portions!
The two-kilometre-long beach is the highlight of the resort. There aren’t a huge range of water sports, but you will have chance to snorkel, pedalo or swim.
For explorers, Mount Ainos is behind the resort. It’s higher than Ben Nevis, but you don’t have to reach the top for beautiful views. If you do scale it all, you’ll be greeted by the remains of a once-famous temple.
Enjoy the quiet life with a stay in Lourdas. You’ll love the peace and tranquillity and come home revived and refreshed!
