Nightlife in Protaras

Don’t be fooled by the small-town feeling of Protaras – the nights won’t be dull, and you can have as much of a drink and a good time here as anywhere else on your Cyprus holidays. The town is full of restaurants that serve everything from local dishes to exotic eats, which will set you up perfectly for a night on the town. With the party hub of Ayia Napa just a short bus or cab ride away, the night can get as crazy as you want – but make sure to check out some of our favourite places to enjoy the warm Cyprus nights.

Drinks from the dawn of time at Stonehenge Cocktail Bar

You’ll recognise this place by its rugged rocky exterior, with even the name of the business seemingly carved from stone. That’s not to say that the interior is outdated, of course – expect modern facilities like big screens and drinks dispensers. Stonehenge Cocktail Bar has a relaxed atmosphere that will be a welcome change of pace for those of you looking to avoid the party animals – or at least take a quiet breather between parties of your own. Besides, who could say no to spending some time in a venue with such a distinctive sense of decoration?

Mosey on down to The Ranch Bar

Styled like something right out of the Wild West on the outside, the inside of this place is more like a Vegas stage show – so it stands to reason that there are musicians and tribute acts here every night. The Ranch Bar has a good atmosphere and a delectable selection of drinks and cocktails. International flags and football scarves line the walls and ceilings, and families are always welcome – which means the little ones can turn their energy loose while still giving youd the chance to settle down and unwind after a long day under the hot sun.

Soak up local smiles at Yia-Mas George's Bar

This open-plan yet cosy little place is located just around the block from the beach, and has gained quite a reputation as a bar that promises a fun night out and some warm hospitality from the owners. They serve English breakfasts here too, so you can come back the next morning to fill up after a night of drinks and revelry. There’s sport on the TV, karaoke for wannabe starlets, and a pool table to try your hand at – and fast, friendly service if you’re staying for an evening meal.

Uncover the mysteries of Sfinx Bar

Well known as a hotbed of tribute acts and musical numbers, Sfinx Bar takes its design cues from Ancient Egypt. The cocktail menu has one of the widest selections in town, and there are meals to be had too, including traditional treats. Sfinx Bar has a welcoming and open layout, which means that wherever you sit, you can see the stage – and the waiting staff won’t lose you when you’re ready to order another round. This is a popular spot with many visitors passing through on holidays to Larnaca.

Set sail aboard The Love Boat

You might imagine this is some tucked-away couples’ corner, but you’ll need to think again. The Love Boat is one of the largest bars in town, right in the middle of the humming nightlife district, and they serve cocktails and hot meals throughout the night. As always, there’s plenty of entertainment to be had, from tribute acts to live performances such as magic shows, and the interior combines hot neon and a rustic pub ambience to fantastic effect.
