Overview of S’Algar

Menorca is more low-key than its neighbours Majorca and Ibiza. Instead of party hotspots, the island is known for its miles of beaches including sandy crescents and rocky, turquoise-coloured bays.

Unspoilt, idyllic and beautiful, on a holiday to Menorca you’ll enjoy a natural landscape perfect for activities like walking and cycling. Plus, the landscapes here are as gentle as they are beautiful, so they’re easy to navigate even if you’re not super-fit.

It’s easy to explore the countryside from the PortBlue S’Algar Hotel. After leaving the hotel, you’ll find monuments dating thousands of years, ancient coastal paths and perfect coves.

Things to do in Menorca

The location of the PortBlue S’Algar Hotel means it’s perfect for anyone looking to get out and stay active. For a relaxing day of exploration, you can wander around S’Algar and see the picturesque coastline, the shaded town square and the top diving spots. Closer to home, there’s a designated sports area only 250 metres away from the hotel.

You’re also only a 15-minute stroll away from the sandy beach at Cala Alcaufar. The visibility below the water here regularly reaches 50 metres, so it’s incredibly popular with scuba divers and snorkellers.

Menorca’s capital, Mahon, is only a 20-minute drive away. The port here is packed with cafes and eateries but there are also nods to its British heritage around the town. Offering low-key days, laid-back nights and plenty of places to get active, Menorca is an island built for great holidays.

Resort Summary

One of the most picturesque points on the island of Menorca, S’Algar’s long walkways are dotted with quaint fishermen’s cottages, true to the resorts history as a fishing inlet. Above these stand hotels and private villas, which have brilliant views across this lovely little pocket of Menorca.

S’Algar is one of the least explored corners that you’ll find during a Menorca holiday, which is surprising considering its incredible lookout point on the southeast headland – providing perfect photo opportunities.

For romantic or family walks, you can take a stroll to the headland’s tower and along to the Blue Flag beach at Punta Prima. Or stay close to home and have a wonderful traditional meal of tapas and sangria at one of the restaurants and bars along S’Algar’s seafront.
