The Hotel Calypso is a big hotel with big appeal, and is great value for money with lots going on for adults and children alike. In terms of location, the Calypso is set at the top end of Salou, slightly away from the resort centre, however there are a few restaurants, bars and shops on the doorstep. It's a ten to fifteen minute walk down to the main beach plus Portaventura theme park is within easy striking distance by bus or taxi. With over 500 rooms spread across two wings, the Calypso is one of the Costa Dorada's largest hotels. As well as its bumper proportions, the hotel's got a big fan base. Families, in particular, love it here. There's a Skytours Kids' Club in the summer, an arcade and even a bowling alley. And there's plenty in the way of daily and evening entertainment, too. Think fun, frothy shows and competitions. Step outside where you'll be greeted by two inviting swimming pools, both are bordered by sun terraces sprinkled with sun beds and parasols. Shady pine trees and glossy palms complete the poolside scene. Close by, there's a raised decked area set out with tables and chairs where you can enjoy a drink.

On the food front, the non smoking restaurant serves meals buffet style and serves up a great selection of hot and cold choices of both local and international flavours. Breakfast is particularly good with home from home favourites the mainstay. Bacon, eggs, baked beans – it's all on the menu. There are also themed events to tempt your taste buds. What's more, during the height of summer, al fresco meals are available out on the terrace. Recently given a makeover, the main bar is particularly cool, decked out in a striking black and lime colour scheme. As for the bedrooms, they're comfortable and come with air conditioning and furnished terraces or balconies as standard.
