For a fantastic family holiday in Tenerife that's packed full of fun for all the family, it has to be the Holiday Village in Playa De La Arena.

Boasting a whole host of facilities guaranteed to spread smiles to guests of all ages, the Holiday Village Tenerife is like a resort within itself. With so much to do, or not to do for those hoping for some precious sunbathing time, you'll never even need to leave the complex.

Daytime Activities

The hotel boasts one of the longest pools we've ever seen, which means plenty of space for inflatable whales and rubber rings. It has a water slide too which is the best way to cool down – or so we've been told. There's an activity pool for all of the wonderfully wacky stuff that goes on each day, from Water Walkerz to inflatable assault courses, and there's also a quiet pool surrounded by luxurious Balinese beds for older guests to snooze on.

Not limited to splashtastic fun, there's a long list of land activities on offer. In addition to favourites such as tennis, football and volleyball there's archery, crazy golf, a games arcade and a bowling alley. For daredevils, there's an Arial Adventure assault course high above the ground and for those who enjoy activities of a tamer nature there's French boules and giant chess.

From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, the animation team will be working their flip flips off to make sure you're having as much fun as possible. There's a weekly programme packed full of activities for all ages, in addition to special events such as family theme days and charity splashathons. Whether you're getting tangled up in giant Twister or hitting your newly-formed friends with foam batons in a Gladiator battle there'll be smiles all round.

Kids' Clubs and Adult Facilities

Kids' Clubs at the Holiday Village are unlike any other in the world. They're quirky, they're crazy and they're carefully tailored to suit a range of age groups. Tots aged 0-2 will giggle and gurgle with joy in Twinkle Stars crèche, whereas older Little Stars, Super Stars and Mega Stars can enjoy everything from Harry Potter magic to chocolate challenges and sports tournaments. They'll be grinning from ear to ear as they tell you about all of the new things they've tried, from canoeing to body zorbing. Teens aren't left out either, and have their own hangout kitted out with all of the latest games consoles and free WiFi for uploading all of their latest holiday snaps.

At the Holiday Village Tenerife the kids will be dragging you to kids' club, not the other day round. This means you'll have plenty of adult time to lay back and admire the dramatic mountainous landscape. There are plenty of facilities to help mums and dads relax, including a gym, sauna, steam room and spa. While mums are pampering themselves with a massage and new hair-do, dads can enjoy an All Inclusive beer or two whilst watching the latest sports live on the big screen.

Evening Entertainment

There's a rich and varied entertainment programme each night, kicking off with a mini disco for the little ones before the highly talented and energetic Holiday Village entertainment team take to the stage. Not just your average group of so-so entertainers, these guys will have you laughing, clapping and tapping your feet to a range of shows ranging from comedy to cabaret to interactive game shows.

All Inclusive Package

After working up an appetite from all of the action, it's a relief to know that all of your food and drink is included in the price of your holiday. In fact, the All Inclusive package includes your flights and transfers too, so everything is taken care of before you even take off from the airport. The main buffet restaurant rustles up breakfast, lunch and dinner and with a variety of theme nights there's always something different to try. It's all beautifully presented – so much so that you're compelled to try a little bit of everything. If you fancy something a little fancier, there are two a la carte restaurants – an Italian and another venue that alternates between Mexican and Grill.

At the Holiday Village Tenerife you'll be treated to a suite which boasts: satellite TVs, minibar, balcony or terrace, a hairdryer and at least a partial sea view. New for 1024, there's free WiFi around the hotel so the whole family can keep in touch with loved ones while on holiday.

Out and About

If you can put down your cocktails and pull the kids away from their pirate adventure, the resorts of Playa De La Arena, Puerto Santiago and Los Gigantes are just a short distance away, as are the stunning volcanic sandy beaches. The hotel has bicycles for hire, which are a great way to explore the local surroundings. The hotel complex is a 60 minute transfer from Tenerife Airport, and the lively resort of Playa De Las Americas is just a short taxi ride away.
