Villa Bahia Vista
Sitting up in the hills above Moraira is the pretty Villa Bahia Vista. With stunning views right across the lush greenery this is the place to head for relaxed last minute holidays in Moraira. It’s a low-level affair with a flash of pink bougainvillea clinging to its whitewashed walls and a russet-coloured roof.
Inside, it’s quite a traditional affair. There are three bedrooms – one master with an en-suite, one twin room and another with bunk-beds, so it sleeps six altogether. The living space is split into two – a big kitchen and a diner-come-living room. The latter comes with beamed ceilings, a big chimneybreast, and doors that open out on to a sheltered veranda. This in turn, leads onto a sun terrace where you’ll find a generous-sized rectangular pool and sunbeds. And if you walk a little further down a few steps you’ll come to another terrace with a built-in barbecue.
The villa is in a residential area, so while you’ll be away from the main tourist spots, it’s not deserted up here. What’s more, you don’t have far to go to for your nearest restaurant – it’s just three kilometres away – or a ten-minute drive. Add another kilometre on to that and you’ve got the beach at El Portet. It’s a sandy bay that slopes gently into the sea, so it’s great for swimming.
