Book Cheap Flights From Southampton Airport
Southampton International Airport

The first flight from Southampton airport can be dated back to 1910. During the First World War the site was used by the U.S. Army and after the war it became a refugee camp, mainly for Russians wishing to sail to America via Southampton. In 1932 Southampton Corporation bought the site and renamed it Southampton Municipal Airport. There was continued growth and expansion during the 1960s and 70s and in 1994, with the opening of a new terminal, it was re-branded under the name BAA Southampton International Airport. Southampton Airport now handles over 1.5 million passengers a year making it the 20th largest Airport in the UK.
Southampton Airport is located approximately 4 miles from Southampton in Eastleigh. The Airport is less than a mile from Junction 5 of the M27 and the M3 is just over a mile away. There is a regular bus service (every 15 minutes) from the city centre to the airport. A rail link, Southampton Airport Parkway Station, is only 50 metres from the terminal building with 3 trains per hour that run to London Waterloo.
