Punta Prima Holidays 2024/2025

White beaches and clear waters flow from cliff to cliff in quiet Punta Prima. The resort is just 15-minutes’ drive from Menorca airport, meaning you can start to relax in no time. However, its secluded silence makes it feel much further away. Walkers who stroll between the bays during their Menorca holiday regularly visit Punta Prima to sample the scenic routes around the resort.

Plenty to do

This south-easterly spot on the island has countless opportunities to take a dip or a stroll and is well-loved by families due to the range of child-friendly activities. You can whizz down slides at the SplashWorld waterpark – part of one of the resort’s hotels but open to all.

The restaurants and bars that line the seafront, each serve up their own combination of traditional Spanish or international fusion food and drink. They are the perfect places to watch an amazing sunset from each evening.

Despite it being one of the oldest resorts on the island, Punta Prima is kitted-out with enough restaurants, bars and shops to keep you satisfied during your family holiday to Menorca. If you need to fill your apartment’s fridge, or are just looking for picnic bits for your day out on the beach, the Punta Prima stores will be able to help you out.

Excellent restaurants, serving a range of both international and local cuisines, line the seafront and offer the ideal place to sit and watch the sun go down. Even though the resort isn’t the most wild at night, there are still plenty of places to sit, drink and meet new people, including Sunset Bar by the cliff edge, which is open until 2am. Or you could take the short taxi ride to Mahon for its fun nightclubs and live music venues.

    An award winning beach

Punta Prima earned one of the first Blue Flag awards on the island for its incredible beach, which is kept clean all year round, good to know when travelling with little ones. The sand is crystalline white and the ocean the deepest blue, but this is the only deep thing about the water, which is just right for wading and shallow swimming.

This beautiful strip of sand is a choice spot for island locals, who stay away from busier stretches. Don’t worry if you’ve had another lie in though, there’s enough room for everyone with around 200m of sandy shore to choose from.

    Your own safe haven

The choice of hotel and apartment complexes in Punta Prima ranges from 3* to 5*, so you’ll have no trouble finding places to stay here during cheap holidays to Menorca.

Many of the activities in Punta Prima are focused around the hotels who serve up facilities including mini-golf and play areas. Sur Menorca Hotel is even home to Splash World – a waterpark overflowing with slides and water fun, which is free for hotel guests but open to all.

Alternatively, if you’re after a quieter getaway, Insotel Resort and Spa gives you everything you need to relax and reenergise, with a spa, Turkish baths and a huge range of treatments, as well as a great dining space.

    Just up the road

Punta Prima is perfectly connected to a number of nearby facilities and attractions. The quaint town of Sant Lluis might become your destination of choice on a day out. It’s 20-minutes away and is home to cute ice creameries, traditional Spanish souvenir shops and markets.

The capital of Menorca, Mahon, is just 10 minutes further by car. The variety of little shops, restaurants and bars scattering the narrow and winding alleyways will have you wandering round quite contented from morning to night. When in Mahon, you shouldn’t leave without sampling the unbelievable seafood restaurants beside the city’s working fishing harbour.

    A scenic walk

If you’re more interested in getting out on foot, then have no fear, Punta Prima is excellent for taking that first step into the wilderness of Menorca. Many hikers like to start from Punta Prima, making their way along the coastal paths. This network of walks called the Cami de Cavalls translates to ‘Path of Horses’ and on horseback is a great way to tour it.

The paths map the entire island. That’s almost 220 kilometres, passing prehistoric monuments, quarries and native wildlife. Routes are brilliantly signposted, with easy-going terrain, and organised tours, such as photography trips, can be arranged.

Depending on how brave you feel, you’d be able to reach just about anywhere you desire in Menorca and always find your way back to the lovely strip of paradise that is Punta Prima.
