A Relatively New Experience On Majorca Holidays…
Nestling in the stunning Bay of Alcudia on Majorca’s northern coast, Playa de Muro edges clean white sands and the dazzling blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. This laid back resort boasts a beautiful tree lined promenade bristling with shops and restaurants whilst the gentle breeze that brushes the shoreline makes perfect conditions for keen windsurfers. Holidays to Playa de Muro are a relatively new Majorcan experience as it is one of the most recently developed resorts on the island. Classed as slightly more upmarket than neighbouring Alcudia or C’an Picafort just around the bay, Playa de Muro holidays have a slightly more affluent feel to them. Hotels are mainly 4 and 5 star making all inclusive deals to Playa de Muro extremely good value for money.
The resort is also exceptionally popular with those wanting to visit the nearby wetlands at S’Albufera, the largest biodiversity site in the Balearic Islands. They have existed for approximately 18 million years, yet the dunes you see today are probably a mere 10,000 years old. The Nature Park consists of a lagoon, separated from the sea by a belt of dunes which over the centuries has managed to convert itself into a large flood plain and is now a protected conservation area. You will be treated to many groups of wildlife and plant species, most of who thrive off each other for survival. Birdwatchers are in their element here with other two hundred species to try and spot.
