Panormo Holidays

The Perfect Holiday Mix...

A few kilometres up the road from holiday hotspots such as Heraklion and Rethymnon is the sleepy fishing of Panormo, but it feels like it is much further away. The lack of bright neon lights and bustling bars is the reason it is regarding as the best place on the island to relax. Take a load off on the beach and soak up the Cretan sun.

As far as holiday essentials Panormo hits the spot. The golden stretch of sands is present and correct as is the rugged green countryside and a quaint fishing harbour. The dish is complete with small colourful fishing boats bobbing in the sunset. It couldn’t be any prettier! There is a newly opened dive school attracting a lot of visitors wanting to explore under the water while those not wanting to get their feet wet lay on their loungers.

Typically Greece...

Panormo is off the well trodden tourist track so it stays peaceful. Lay out on a stretch of sand without having to worry about someone blocking your sun or pick the best seat in the house without having to worry about a wait. The Tavernas are dotted along the beachfront and serve up delicious Greek food and seafood so fresh it goes from the sea to your plate within a day.

Away from the coastline you will find the slow pace of Mediterranean life is well preserved. Think narrow and winding lanes with typical Greek architecture lining each path. There is a mini tourist train taking you through a story of Greek history and legends that will enthral you.
