Fiestas And Fireworks…
Nestling on the Costa Blanca coast of mainland Spain, Moraira holidays will take you to an old medieval town located between Calpe and Javea.
The year round sunny climate and superb sandy beaches ensure that family holidays to Moraira are almost a Spanish speciality.
The town itself is far removed from some of the bustling seaside resorts that many people associate with holidays to Spain and still boasts its charismatic charm, old town square, cobbled streets and whitewashed houses. The old fishing port is called a modern marina these days and the stunning yachts that berth here add a cosmopolitan feel to today’s Moraira holidays.
The main beach at Moraira is L’Ampolla where soft golden sands shelve gently into clean shallow water, perfect for families with young children. You’ll find a selection of seafront restaurants offering succulent fresh fish dishes and a choice of bars that offer a friendly, civilised nightlife.
If you time your holidays to Moraira just right, then they could coincide with a local fiesta, and there are plenty of them to choose from. January sees The Three Kings fiesta, February the Fiesta de la Dama. Easter is celebrated with bull running, fireworks and colourful processions followed in June by the Moors and Christians Parade. Festivities continue throughout the summer months and culminate in November with a Cultural Week.
