A must-see feature of Lisbon holidays is the Alfama quarter, the oldest part of the city and the perfect place to soak up the vibrant atmosphere in the weekly flea market.

In June the streets come alive with festivals that celebrate the popular saints. The tile-covered buildings that line the narrow mediaeval streets are an excellent place to take a stroll or to enjoy a bit of shopping.
