Karteros Holidays

Small And Peaceful...

The Cretan resort of Karteros lies only five miles from the Islands capital and is best known for its sandy beaches. The resort can barely be called a village with just a handful of hotels and a cluster of Tavernas.

Sitting neatly behind Heraklion Bay the resort boasts a coveted Blue Flag Beach award thanks to the pure and soft sands that slink into the clear sea. Sun loungers and parasols line the water’s edge while a handful of sport equipment rentals offer you a chance to try your hand at something new. A handful of bars and the Greek sunshine make Karteros perfect for a restful holiday.

Slow Paced and Well Placed...

Aside from enjoying the beach, there isn’t a vast amount else to do. Evenings follow a similar slow pace as the daytime but the lively capital, Heraklion is a bus ride away. Karteros is in a great spot for anyone keen to explore the natural beauty of Crete. The nearby Karteros gorge is a 12km hiking trail cooled down by woods and decorated with streams. Or submerge yourself in the ancient ruins of Knossos nearby.
