Jandia Holidays - Travel Guide

Location of Jandia

Jandia or Playa Jandia as it is also called, is a resort in the Canary Islands on the southeast coast of Fuerteventura.

Holidays In Jandia

Jandia is an attractive resort on Fuerteventura's southern coast. There are almost 20 miles of almost unspoilt sandy beaches and dunes and the area is popular with couples and people seeking that elusive peace and quiet. The accommodation is mostly small villas and apartments and self-catering is a popular option, although there are Hotels as well. The nightlife on Jandia holidays is relatively low-key although there are more than enough bars, clubs and lively restaurants to keep you entertained.

The nearby town of Morro Jable is a popular destination for many German and Scandinavian tourists but is a very welcoming place to all comers. The town has a quaint harbour area and is a nice place to take a stroll or sit down in one of the many bars and restaurants. The town has its own beaches, which are some of the longest and best beaches in the Canary Islands and from here you can take to the water for a bit of jet skiing or windsurfing. Despite the onset of increasing tourism the old part of the town has retained its own pleasant charm.

Entertainment In Jandia

Just along the road from Jandia there's a zoo and a camel safari but other than that there is very little in the way of organised entertainment on Jandia holidays, except at some of the hotels. The principal attraction of a Jandia holiday is the opportunity to spend as much time as possible doing very little.

It's a pretty simple task just to find your very own stretch of fine golden sand and stretch out with a good book under the warm summer sun. Jandia holidays are also very popular with windsurfers due to the breeze that blows across the region, which incidentally also helps to cool you down when the temperatures soar in the summer.

Eating Out In Jandia

Jandia holidays offer a handful of restaurants to choose from where you'll find all the usual Spanish holiday food, but generally speaking the bars and restaurants in Jandia are fairly low-key. Some of the Hotels offer all-inclusive programmes where meals, drinks and snacks are included in the price.

Here you'll usually find buffet style snacks at regular intervals and a selection of hot meals where pizzas and burgers will usually be somewhere on the menu.

Getting Around Jandia

Buses and taxis are the main way of getting around but if you want to explore a bit more of the island then it may be worthwhile hiring a car.

Transfer Times To Jandia

Jandia is situated in the south of the island so the transfer from the Airport is likely to take just over an hour by car.
