The ancient city of Rhodes Town is only a 10-minute drive away from Ixia, or you can easily walk there along the resort’s coastal promenade. Rhodes Town is known as one of the most well-preserved medieval towns in Europe and is full of interesting ancient sites and historic structures. If you’re a history buff, this place is a definitely a must-see.

The citadel in Rhodes Town is a UNESCO world heritage site and tours that walk through the buildings and enjoy views of ancient monuments are available. Another impressive historical hotspot is the acropolis. Located up on the hilltop, here you’ll be able to venture through Rhodes Town’s classic Greek temples, stadiums and theatres. Its lofty location also means that you’ll get incredible views of the resort below you.

Rhodes Town has much more to offer than just ancient sites though. You can also enjoy a night out on the town in one of the many joints on Bar Street, a strip that houses bustling piano bars, pubs and bouzouki bars with a lively atmosphere.
