Illetas Holidays 2024/2025

The main attraction of luxurious Illetas is its beach – tucked into a luscious, green cove with a stylish beach club nearby. The resort exudes upscale vibes, from fine-dining to swanky hotels. With holidays to Majorca being all about relaxing in the sun, swimming in the sea, and forgetting life’s troubles, Illetas is a top destination. It’s sandwiched between cultural capital Palma and party central Magaluf, so whether you’re after a relaxing break, a shopping trip or a wild night out, Illetas is a great base.

Everybody's favourite beach

The Illetas beach follows suit with the rest of the area’s ritzy atmosphere, bringing beach-goers powdery sands and warm waters. The shores are nestled in a quiet cove, which features sun loungers and thatched parasols for prime relaxation time. They’re highly sought-out in the summer months, when the beach can get very busy.

There’s a diving school that’ll help you get suited up to explore the underwater landscape, while bike rental services will have you uncovering the terrain above ground.

On the northern end of the shore there is a scattering of bars and restaurants where you can sample local dishes in between sunbathing stints. As if Illetas couldn’t get any more luxurious, the staff at Virtual Beach Club will bring you champagne as you laze in a hammock overlooking the sea.

Fine dining

Favouring the finer things, Illetas is a hub for upscale dining. You won’t find a range of fast food or takeaway spots here, but a small assortment of restaurants that’ll have you appreciating gourmet Spanish cuisine. There are a few international touches, but the fare here is largely Mediterranean. Cheap holidays to Majorca can still include fine dining – especially if you’re a foodie who knows how to budget creatively.

From an outdoor terrace overlooking the sea or in the comforts of a cosy patio, you’ll have your pick of freshly-caught seafood, pans of paella or fideua – think paella but with noodles instead of rice – and expertly-paired wine.

Cave-side cocktails

Doors close earlier than other spots on the island in Illetas, giving the town a laid-back atmosphere once the sun goes down. You can grab a drink in the bar of your hotel and settle in with on-site evening entertainment, or have a glass of wine over dinner.

The music carries on until 2am – considered late for this town – at the Virtual Beach Club, whose bar is housed in an exclusive cave just along the beach. Don’t let this put you off booking a family holiday to Majorca, just remember that it is important to check that your hotels and planned activities are not for over eighteens only.

For livelier times, Majorca‘s nightlife capital, Magaluf, isn’t far away. Neon-coloured cocktails and all-night parties are the main attractions here, with world-class DJs and performers frequently making appearances for live shows.

Putting on the ritz

The accommodation in Illetas doesn’t often dip below 4* and 5* quality, with whitewashed buildings rising up into the hillside. Many of the town’s hotels feature top notch spas, gyms and sporting facilities, which include squash and tennis courts. You’ll have your pick of private pools and sun loungers, plus an assortment of hotel dining options and bars, so all your holiday needs are met just downstairs.

Shopping in Palma

Illetas’ shopping scene revolves primarily around a few souvenir shops and supermarkets. But with Majorca’s capital city of Palma only 10km to the east, high end shopping sprees are right at your fingertips.

Palma’s busy streets are lined with independent boutiques as well as high street and designer stores selling quality clothing and leather goods. There are also a few commercial malls to wander through, plus weekly local markets brimming with handmade wares.
