Tips on keeping your New Year resolutions

It’s been 2 weeks since we made our annual New Year resolutions, we have put great effort in trying to keep these up. Unfortunately many of us never keep to these and by the time we’ve finished that last selection box off our ‘new year resolutions’ are a thing of the past.

That’s how it goes for most of us, at least.

However your resolutions do not have to fail and here at HolidayHypermarket we are here to cheer you on.
Follow these simple tips and you will soon be back on track.

1. Be Realistic
The goals we set are never realistic which is why we tend to fall at the first hurdle. For instance if you say you’re never going to eat junk food again so you can get that bikini body for your holiday to Ibiza, instead say you are changing your eating habits and have a payday takeaway once a month.

2. Stick to it
Sources say that it can take about 21 days for a new activity to become a habit, and up to 6 months for it to become part of your personality. Nothing happens overnight so stick with it and before you know it changes will happen.

3. Reward yourself
Now this isn’t an excuse for you to eat a whole box of chocolates, if you have chosen to eat healthy. Why not reward yourself by going to the cinema with friends or book yourself a well-deserved last minute holiday. This way you are celebrating your success without damaging your New Year resolution.

Whether you’re cutting out on cigarettes, slimming for your summer 2014 holiday or exercising more, these tips should help you stay on track.

Let’s make 2014 the year we stick to our NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS!
