Fancy a cocktail? The only beach bars you need to try this year

Summer is fast approaching and most of us are already fantasising about our next holiday. There’s nothing better than watching the sunset or partying the night away at a stunning beach bar.

Picture the ocean breeze, the sound of crashing waves and the smell of rich sea salt while you sip on an ice cold mojito or flavourful strawberry daiquiri. Paradise, right? So join us for a cocktail while we visit a few of our favourite shoreside bars.

Rick’s Café – Negril, Jamaica

Dare to dive at Ricks Café. This cliff-diving café is a must-visit for all, from families, adrenaline junkies and couples.

Scared to take the plunge? Well, don’t worry as the bar is the backdrop to some of the most breathtaking sunsets, the stage for soulful singers and the kitchen for Caribbean cuisine. So, sit back and relax while you watch heroic holiday-goers fling themselves from rocks and dive deep into the rippling water.

Ushuaia – Ibiza, Playa D’en Bossa

If we know one thing about Ibiza, we know that its home to some of the world’s most swanky and desirable bars. And, Ushuaia in Playa D’en Bossa is no exception.

In fact, this upscale bar seems to be head and shoulders above the rest, after hosting some of the greatest parties the island has ever witnessed.

Be prepared to party from sunset to sunrise as you share the shore with world-famous DJs and exotic dancers. Wowed yet? If not, take a dip in the LED lit pool as the music blasts from underwater speakers.

Baba Nest – Phuket, Thailand

All aboard Baba Nest this summer. Thailand’s flat deck bar is a bar with a difference as its deck-like platform gives patrons the illusion of drifting out to sea.

With its contemporary rooftop setting, travellers can appreciate 360-degree views of Phuket while they curl up on oversized cushions, take in seaside sunsets and consider jumping into the surrounding infinity pool. Admit it, you’re sold.

Theros Wave Bar – Santorini, Greece

Next stop Theros Wave Bar, Santorini. Indisputably one of the most beautiful Greek Islands, Santorini is celebrated for its gleaming white buildings, spectacular scenery and ancient history.

Head to Theros Wave bar to chit-chat over a glass of Greek wine. This unique spot sits on the white rocks of Eros beach and offers impressive ocean views. Watch the atmosphere change from laid-back to lively as day turns to night, then get ready to party like a local as the bar puts on its famous full-moon party.

Purobeach – Marbella, Spain

This high tide hangout is the ultimate hotspot, and one of the most popular beach bars in Marbella. You can expect everything from buckets of champagne, beach yoga and an inviting interior, to style-conscious sunbathers, fresh sushi and ambient music.

But make sure you don’t miss out, get there early and reserve a cabana. Or, if you prefer to stay active join in the morning yoga class. More of a night owl? Then party under the stars at one of Purobeach’s legendary events.
