The Hotel Riu Don Miguel is in a prime spot on Playa del Inglés’ liveliest street, with the shops, bars and clubs of the Yumbo Centre just across the road. A fifteen minute stroll will take you to the sandy beach, if you don’t fancy the leg work the hotel lays on a bus.
The hotel itself is a modern, whitewashed number that curves around a central swimming pool that is bordered by a beautiful sun terrace, with a plethora of sun loungers and parasols dotted around the water’s edge. There’s a shallow pool and a play area for little ones, too. What’s more, you’ll find a bar out here serving up drinks and snacks all day.
Step inside and things are pretty simple. In the bedrooms, plain white walls and powder blue bed linen are teamed with light wood furniture create a light, bright feel. All rooms come with a balcony or terrace, so you’ve got your own outside space. Factor in a satellite TV and phone, and you’ve got the essentials covered.
In terms of food, expect big buffets with an international flavour. At breakfast you’ll find a mix of hot and cold options, and there’s plenty of fresh fruit on offer. In the evenings you can watch as chefs prepare things like chicken and fish on the spot. Plus, there’s a separate buffet section that’s dedicated to desserts.
