Hotel Miramar
The elegant Hotel Miramar is one of the oldest hotels on the island and serves up ample style and tradition. Surrounded by awe inspiring scenery, backed by cliffs and pulled right up against a fine sandy beach, it couldn’t be in a better spot. The hotel itself is whitewashed and finished off with wrought iron balconies, paved courtyards and brightly coloured bougainvillea, oozing a traditional Mediterranean feel. But what really sets this place apart is the staff. It’s run by the fourth generation of the same family that first threw open its doors back in 1912. As such, there’s a really intimate, much-loved vibe to this place – it’s a home as well as a hotel.
The bedrooms are in keeping with the hotel’s classic Majorcan style, with white walls, carved wooden bedsteads and chic dressing tables topped with over sized mirrors. Each room comes with its own furnished balcony, too, as well as things like air conditioning and TVs.
The restaurant here is a real hit with a plethora of mouth watering dishes and a mix of big international buffets and Spanish-style à la carte options. Retire to the cosy bar where for post dinner drinks where exposed wood beam ceilings, patterned rugs and gilded chandeliers strike a classy but cosy vibe. Head here for a serving of rustic paella or a cool down drink throughout the day.
