Hotel Coronas Playa
The Coronas Playa is a striking, modern hotel built in low level, tiered clusters. It’s pulled right up against the coast, so stellar sea views can be expected in most rooms. Location wise, there are a handful of bars and restaurants just outside the hotel with the resort centre being a ten minute wander away. This is also where you’ll find the closest sandy beach. If you don’t fancy the walk jump on a bus into town – there’s a bus stop close to the hotel. Buses also run to the capital, Arrecife, and the livelier resort of Puerto Del Carmen.
The hotels main focal point are the two large sun terraces that’s dotted with sunbed and thatched parasols, at the centre of one sits a large heart shaped swimming pool perfect for relaxing. On the accommodation front, the bedrooms are spacious and bright are decorated with lemon walls and teamed with cool tiled floors. Sky blue bed covers and curtains add a touch of colour and all rooms come with balconies or terraces.
There’s more in the way of relaxation at the health and beauty centre where you can treat yourself to a pampering treatment. In terms of activities, the hotel lays on a range of daytime pursuits including squash and tennis. And at nearby Las Cucharas beach, there’s a host of watersports to choose from. As the Coronas Playa is part of the Thomson Gold collection, particular attention is paid to food and entertainment. There are buffet meals, gala dinners and regular theme nights. Not to mention plenty in the way of live music, comedy and cabaret.
