Built around a small central courtyard, complete with a stone fountain and tiled walls, this Andalucian-style hotel is anything but run of the mill.
Step into the bedrooms, and you’ll see the designers have added some unique touches. They’ve kept things nice and simple with cream-coloured walls and berry red curtains, and the beds are dressed in rich red linen. Add rustic bedside tables and chairs, and you’ve got a room that’s every bit as cosy as it sounds.
The restaurant is a bit different, too. Chunky country-style tables and chairs sit beneath a ceiling of dark wooden beams with a wrought-iron chandelier in the middle. Breakfast and dinner is served here, buffet style, so expect a good mix to suit all tastes.
As for things to do, the days here usually revolve around the pool. It’s an oval shape set into a terracotta-coloured terrace. What’s more, most weeks there’s a paella demonstration, so you can get to grips with making the local favourite. Evenings, meanwhile, are all about live music – there’s some most nights - and the weekly flamenco show.
Lastly, the location. The Hotel Villa Flamenca is just a ten to fifteen-minute walk downhill to Burriana beach, and the same amount of time to Nerja’s shops, bars and restaurants.
