The Lobos Bahia feels more like a dinky village than a hotel. Rooms are dotted through the gardens in two-storey blocks. And palms and brightly-coloured bougainvillea create a real air of privacy. Follow the flower-lined pathways and you’ll find a gym and a children’s playground.

But the real standout feature here is the pool area. It offers up two huge curvy numbers, bordered by thatched parasols and palm trees. A snack bar and a separate splash pool for children complete the picture. And when you want to swap sun terrace for sand, the beach is just a five-minute walk away.

Décor-wise, the apartments have gone down the classic Mediterranean route – all white walls, tiled floors and simple wood furniture. Each one comes with its own lounge and kitchen, too, as well as a balcony or terrace.

On the food front, the main restaurant does a great line in big buffets, and when you want to eat out, you’ve got a handful of bars and restaurants just outside the door. Further more, the centre of Corralejo is just a ten-minute walk away.
