The Bali Hotel and Studios is a big, whitewashed property set on a steep hill overlooking the Benalmadena seafront. So it comes with great views over the Med Sea from its upper floors. Better still, sandy Malapesquera beach is a five-minute walk away. Plus, you’ll find bars, shops and restaurants right on the doorstep.

Outside, there are two pools, both framed by wide terraces. Steps from the biggest pool lead down to a lawned garden, with a children’s pool in the centre. It’s a tucked-away spot with sunloungers on the grass. And up above, there’s a poolside bar that stays open late and hosts regular evening shows.

Accommodation-wise, you can choose between bedrooms or more contemporary studios. The latter come with funky Scandinavian-style furnishings.

In terms of dining, there’s a modern restaurant where international buffets are served. Plus, the hotel spices things up from time to time with gala dinners and Italian and Andalusian nights.
