Gouves Holidays

Discover Mountain Trails and Sleepy Villages

Sitting on the shores of Crete’s northern coast, Gouves is a traditional Greek resort with white washed houses meandering down from their green mountain backdrop towards the sparkling blue sea below. The village itself has a main street lined with shops, restaurants and tavernas where you’ll be sure of a warm Greek welcome and a good selection of menus.

There are no fewer than three beaches to choose from on holiday to Gouves, plus a selection of water sports should you wish to try them. Water City Water Park is also close by and offers a day of fun for all ages, with drinks and snacks available it makes a refreshing and adrenalin charged change to a day of relaxation on the beach.

Boat trips will transport you to the old leper colony on the island of Spinalonga, or to the beautifully romantic Santorini. Hire a bike or quad, or go horseback riding along picturesque mountain trails, discovering sleepy Greek villages along the way. The ancient village of Knossos is full of fascinating history and has an interesting Archaeological Museum, or visit Crete Aquarium in Gournes, one of the largest aquariums in Europe and boasting over 200 species of Mediterranean marine life.

Evenings on Gouves holidays are usually spent strolling along the promenade, perusing the menus and enjoying traditional Cretan shows, karaoke and live music.
