Flaine is a purpose built Ski resort situated within a huge open snow bowl, within one of the most extensive and spectacular Ski areas in the whole of France. Visitors to the Flaine Ski resort are granted access to the Grand Massif Ski area, offering skiers over 265km of piste to ski. Flaine is split into two distinct levels. Flaine Forum is the traffic-free heart of the resort where you’ll find the majority of the shops, bars and restaurants. Flaine Foret is linked to Flaine Forum via a free lift that operates day and night.

Flaine skiing is regarded as being among the best in France, and caters for every level of ability, thanks to its broad range of wide, gentle slopes, cruising mogul fields and challenging black runs. In spite of the unusual 1960s style architecture in Flaine, accommodation is generally of a high standard and includes some convenient ski-in, ski-out options. Beginners – For beginners considering a Ski holiday, Flaine has wide, gentle nursery slopes close to the centre of the village, which are ideal for beginners to learn how to ski. From the safety of the village novice skiers can learn the basics and gain confidence on the slopes.

Intermediates – Flaine gives intermediates an excellent choice of easy red and wide-open blue runs, which provide perfect terrain for practicing and improving techniques.

Advanced – With steep plunges and awesome descents, advanced skiers will find plenty to test their skills in Flaine. France is also known for having some tremendous off-piste areas and Flaine is no different, with endless off-piste opportunities for the more advanced skier to challenge their ability.

Après Ski – Much of the entertainment in Flaine is relaxed and informal, and is centred on the local bars and restaurants, which offer live music, excellent food and good value for money. Flaine also has activities for both skiers and non-skiers including bowling, ice-skating, snowshoeing, hang gliding and paragliding, as well as an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, sauna and solarium to enjoy.

Transfers – Flaine is situated approximately 1hr from Geneva, 1hr 30minutes from Chambery and 2hrs from Grenoble and Lyon.
