Costa Adeje Holidays

Ideally Situated Close To Playa De Las Americas…

The resort of Costa Adeje is situated on the southwest coast of the Spanish island of Tenerife. Costa Adeje is a relatively new name for an area that was formerly considered part of the better known Playa De Las Americas resort, where it runs west from the Veronicas strip. Costa Adeje holidays are located in the newer parts of the area and therefore tend to have slightly more luxurious hotels than in Las Americas itself. A little further inland, close to the old town of Adeje is the "Barranco del Infierno", or "Hell’s gorge", the deepest ravine in the whole of the Canary Islands. The gorge is afforded special environmental protection and therefore only a limited number of visitors can make there way along the walking trail each day for a small fee. As a day trip on Costa Adeje holidays Hell's Gorge is a fantastic day out. There's an impressive array of flora and fauna and scenic views of waterfalls that make the walk a delightful way to spend the day. It can take up to four hours to complete the journey, so it should not be attempted unless you can spare the time and the energy. Markets are held every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year in the Torviscas district and are a good place to haggle for a few souvenirs on your Costa Adeje holidays.

Avoid The Crowds In This Family Friendly Resort…

Being an extension of the Playa De Las Americas resort, the nightlife around Costa Adeje can be quite lively if you choose to visit the famous Veronicas strip. But Costa Adeje holidays are equally suited to families and those who prefer a less animated evening. To avoid the crowds you can easily seek out Costa Adeje's more understated bars. A short journey along the coast by car is the resort of Los Cristianos that has a more family friendly feel and is a bit more laidback in terms of nightlife. During the day there are lots of facilities for enjoying the water, including boat excursions and whale watching cruises, deep sea fishing and of course all the usual water sports like diving and windsurfing.

Costa Adeje holidays are blessed with a golf course nearby and good opportunities for duty free shopping, especially for electrical goods. The food on offer on Costa Adeje holidays is typical of many Spanish holiday resorts with a wide variety of international cuisines available. The more traditional Spanish dishes such as Tapas and Paella are also available should you wish to give them a try. Buses run on a regular basis around the resorts and further afield and are quite reasonably priced. Taxis can often quote a ‘fixed price’ for a given journey although this may vary from one taxi to another. A tourist mini train carries passengers from the centre of town on a 45-minute tour around the resort. Transfer times are approximately the same as Playa De Las Americas so you can expect a taxi journey from the Airport to take in the region of 20 to 30 minutes. Coach transfers obviously take a little longer as they are likely to make a number of stops around Las Americas.
